THREE MAGIC WORDS THAT BRING CHANGE.

My recent thoughts and posts have been about creating and holding a positive intention. Writing helps me stay focused on my own personal desire. What I’m learning is that the greatest part of creating positive change is to be happy. Emotions are energy and they attract similar energy. When we feel joy in our heart we attract the same. Happiness brings about a positive energy flow that assists in creating the change we want. However, there are always times and people who are NOT on our same page and want to share the pain or ugly they are feeling.

Getting what we want will not make us happy... at least not for long. To get the change we want and we must become happy first. Remember energy attracts like energy. So that means when negative people or situations are frequently crossing our path it is generally a sure sign that we are NOT in the happiness flow. Our culture does not teach balance and harmony so when those negative or challenging moments come it is our responsibility to return to a state of peace. It is always there; deep within us. I know this may sound like a difficult process however; the more often we make time to sit quietly, connecting with that place the more easily it will be to return to it when our positive intentions are challenged.

Energy and emotions can be controlled with breath. When thoughts are negative or fearful our breathing becomes shallow and rapid. Our heart energy constricts almost as through the heart is trying to protect itself. On the other hand, when we feel joy and peace our breathing becomes deeper and more relaxed. The heart energy opens and expands.

Here’s an exercise that can be done while sitting quietly: Think of a time when you felt afraid. Likely, just the memory of the event is enough to change your breathing pattern as memory of the past fear awakens. Be aware of your breathing. Now think of a time when you felt free, at peace, safe or happy. Feel how your heart beat slows and your body relaxes? You’re breathing is more relaxed. Slow and focused breathing can even lower elevated blood pressure.

I’ve written before about the power of gratitude in healing life situations. GRATITUDE comes from being THANKFUL and accepting. It brings APPRECIATION, even when conditions are such that we do not feel grateful. Saying THANK-YOU begins a change. The constricting heart energy reverses, breathing relaxes and our metabolism returns to normal. The words THANK-YOU put us back in touch with the depth of peace that is part of our core. We open to love.

The state of being brought from gratitude and appreciation opens channels of energy. It lifts our spirits and draws positive possibilities. There is often a sensation of warmth and expansion at the area of the thymus, above the heart. In holistic circles this area is called the ‘High Heart’. It is where we hold the love for ourselves. It restores the flow of positive Intention. Remember and say the words: GRATITUDE, APPRECIATION, THANK-YOU. They are magical. ~Malana

DREAM CATCHERS

For years I have been fascinated with dream catchers but never bought or even thought of making one. Then I heard that a man named  Christopher Peter VanderEssen  will be a building a giant one near Woodstock for the 45th anniversary of the famous event.  His huge dream catcher will be dedicated to peace.

The webbing of a dream catcher intrigues me and the idea of them being dedicated to a purpose fits right into my beliefs on energy and connection.  I decided to check into them. Mine would be gifts; expressions of love.
As a subtle energy practitioner I know that the thoughts and feelings held while making or holding something leaves an energy imprint. In the past, I have built medicine wheels in my yard and dedicated them to peace by laying each stone with a prayer for peace. Every stone holds a blessing and its clockwise progression creates a vortex of energy that almost anyone visiting the wheel can feel  Most people who come to visit will say that my yard makes them feel calm; that it is a healing place. The dream catchers I was going to make would be the same.

Working or moving in a clockwise direction creates a vortex of energy that holds whatever intent is placed on them. The first dream catcher I made was for a grand daughter's 9th birthday. It held  the intent of love and happiness. The second was for a friend's toddler and it held a blessing for love and protection. The one shown in this photo below is my 3rd . Its for the family of a single mother I know. It carries the blessing of love and unity.  My current project is for a young woman's high school graduation. Her dream catcher will hold the intent of love and expansion.
Dream catchers are one of the traditions of Native Americans that seem to speak to everyone. The traditional dream catcher idea, given to the Lakota people, was to protect  sleeping children from negative dreams. Positive dreams pass through the open center of the dream catcher and glide down  feathers to the sleeping person. Negative dreams become caught-up in the web and then vaporize in the first morning light.

The impression to build dream catchers had many levels of information attached. Not only did they allow me to express love to others but, they calmed my spirit and gave me a positive focus while working through changes in my husband's health. Art is creative; creating is making something new. When my focus is on love and creating, the energy I surround myself with holds that vibration. It becomes a ripple that will spread to all that are near me in body or thought.

If you want to see more of the dream catchers I have made they are on my Face Book pages:

Charity and Compassion

It was during the years I lived in Florida that I first began seeing men standing at intersections holding signs that read: Will Work For Food. At first, it was shocking in its newness; afterwards it became a personal conflict. I would often overhear groups of people talking about what a racket it was. They would say that limousines delivered the men to various corners. However, I had not seen this; could it be true or a lie? Then one day I was driving home from the grocery store. A man with a sign approached my car while I was stopped at the light. He was holding his sign to my window and looking in my eyes. I had to make a decision, it was no longer a matter for debate. It was there in that moment the world became silent. All the voices and arguments were gone. I had clarity. It was not my responsibility to decide if this man deserved my help or not. He was asking for food; I gave him a loaf of bread.

What a relief and blessing it was once the decision was made. It is not my responsibility to judge whether someone else deserves to be helped.  When someone asks, give what they ask for. I did not give money, he asked for food. Where I live in Honduras, there is very little financial aid for those with physical limitations or the very ill. Often I’ll see a mother with a invalid child holding her hand out while standing outside a grocery store, a blind man with a brother or neighbor helping him request donations at a traffic light. There is generally some handicapped person in  a wheel chair holding out a jar at an intersection. People from other cultures can find these sights disturbing but within the culture here, there is a quiet understanding.

Those who have help those who cannot help themselves. I see it in so many levels here. If your life is blessed with a car then you financially aid those that are walking blind or in wheelchairs when they stand asking for help. If you live in a nicer house with a number of electric appliances, you pay the highest rate for electricity so that the poor who use little receive their electric free. The emotional benefit is a wonderful feel-good. There is also the added benefit of being free of guilt or shame in having while living amongst those who don’t. The benefit that comes on the energy or spiritual level is the highest reward. It is what is often referred to as The Golden Rule.

Focus and Intent

What affects the outcome of an action is the thought behind it. Have you ever been bowling, then find yourself trying to pick up a spare? Your first roll of the ball may have taken down half the pins and now you are counting the remaining number, hoping to clean it up for a spare. As you face the pins, the ball balanced at your chest, the success of the outcome will not be luck as much as the focus of your intent.

All of our thoughts, worries, experiences, and awareness along with things we have viewed, heard and been taught whirl and flow, through our mind influencing our views of everyday experiences. This is why police officers will ask for 3-5 witnesses at an accident. No two people will view that accident the same way. Each will see it through their life experiences. One person may swear the driver was drinking because they saw the accident through the scars of losing a loved one to a drunken driver. Another may have seen the driver not wearing the seat belt; a regular point of debate between them and their spouse.

It is in creating quiet time that we begin to realize how busy our minds are. It is in the ability to quiet the mind that creates powerful focus. When the thoughts behind the focus are negative, it produces a force that can be hurtful, but the energy formed is constrictive and will rapidly return to the sender. When  it does, it carries an amplification of its negative message.  When the thoughts behind the focus are optimistic, a flow of positive energy occurs with an expanding ripple that has valuable collateral affects.

The most valuable asset to living is in spending time training the mind to a disciplined quiet. Then feed the mind with positive thoughts and beliefs. When you want the results of a positive focus, it needs no effort to direct it and all around you benefit. By training the mind to hold a positive focus we create the reality we want and a better world for all.  WHAT WE DO TO ANOTHER IN THOUGHT OR DEED, WE ARE DOING TO OURSELVES.

                                           The Power of Red

If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.   - Nikola Tesla

All is energy but in learning to recognize the world from an energy viewpoint, color and sound are the two easiest vibrations for most people to relate to. The sensation of color depends on the number of vibrations of light, just as the sound of a note depends on the vibrations emitting it. The variance is produced by the intensity of their energy frequencies. These make up the visible light spectrum. Any vibration beyond those we can see are known as ultra-violet.

Every living thing on the planet requires sunlight to grow and survive. Human beings are no exception.  Within the white light of the sun are seven different rates of vibration, we know as colors. Sunlight produces color in plants and that vibration is carried into the animal that eats the plant. These different color frequencies affect the well-being of the body, mind as well as our emotions and spirit.

The color RED anchors your connection to the physical world. It is essential in creating overall strength that supports the physical body. It stimulates. It represents passion, life, love, survival, family and tribe. It strengthens and awakens physical energy and will.  The physical organ that reflects this is the heart and blood. According to the Greek Law of Similar, red foods support the components of the Fire Element; a Chinese medicine term for heart, adrenal and blood.

Students of energy, familiar with vortexes of the human body, know that the color red is the vibration of the root chakra. It extends from the lower abdomen to about midpoint length of the thighs. Organs within its influence include the sexual organs, prostate, bladder and large intestine. Those organs are a long way from the heart yet; the root chakra energetically represents all the aspects of survival just as the heart does in the physical plane. The distance in the physical body seems extreme yet, the conceptual similarities of these two match.

Recent science indicates that the lycopene in the skin of tomatoes is good for your heart, and that many red foods increase metabolic rates. The natural color of red radishes, red peppers (especially chilies), strawberries, cherries, pomegranate, raspberries, watermelon, red onion, red apples, red grapes as well as tomatoes and beets add vitality and strengthen the immune system.

If you find your life feeling out of balance in areas of finances, career, family or love relationships, try adding more red to your diet, wardrobe or environment.

THE new year CHASM

Am I the only one who feels that they are floating within a chasm? It’s as though ending the old Gregorian calendar  year and the birth of a new year under the Chinese calendar  has created a cradle or fertile furrow to birth new purposes and ideas. Having a full moon and its energy influence overseeing this period adds confirmation that this is a time to set new sites and take first steps toward seeing desires happen.
Since developing a 4th dimensional approach to healing and the negative influences that affect health, I have started viewing most everything from an energy perspective. Overtime (and practice) a greater sensitivity and understanding to what might be labeled as Feng Shui, intuition or Shamanism has occurred which is a bit like peeking through stage curtains before a performance. Energy is what it is all about.

As for this calendar thing, part of the influence we’re feeling comes from (the energy) having a major part of the world population accepting and following a calendar based on the sun (which is changing) and trade. It is almost the 100th monkey situation; enough people thinking (applying energy) about the same thing makes it true. However, in following the Gregorian calendar, we live just one beat out of step with nature . We are so used to the miss-beat that we ignore the sensation.

On the other hand, there are a great number that have been placing their faith (energy) on the Chinese system of time marking for thousands of years. It is a calendar that follows lunar AND solar (lunisolar). This system follows natural movements untouched by the influence of commerce…and yet following its energy flow can have a positive influence on prosperity.  Each month follows one cycle of the moon.  Over history it has become common knowledge the moon influences the oceans and other bodies of water such as our physical form and brain.

Setting direction  for my new year as I float  in the energies of this chasm, have me wondering,  how might it  enhance my  health and future designs if I were to follow the current trend of most of East Asia? That is to use the Gregorian calender (called the Yin calendar), for day-to-day activities (business, birthdays, etc.) but the Chinese (or  Yang) calendar for season changes and other important aspects of life.  I believe it would benefit my efforts (energy) similarly to how the old Poor Richard’s Almanacs helped farmers in the past.

January 23rd begins the Chinese year of the dragon. As a person born under the “Rat” sign, I’m looking forward to a very auspicious year.
